Here is a conversation you might  hear in some circles. Sometimes those who understand and employ high church ritual and procedures slip over a line.  It is possible to use rite and ritual in such ways that they confuse the ritual with proclaiming the Gospel.

When does the ritual replace the proclamation? One time it does is when the ritual act is the only proper gateway to the Gospel. As a former Lutheran parish pastor for nine years with a love for church service ritual, and now a retired Anglican priest, I feel free to claim this video.  I have heard and seen a few examples portrayed in this gentle satire. Enjoy.
